BEGINNER A1 COURSE

In this 5 week introductory course you will learn the basics of how to communicate in French.  It is the perfect starting point before taking a trip to France, or if you have simply always wanted to learn the language.

Beginner A1 Course: Welcome

CURRICULUM OVERVIEW

What You'll Learn

Build a solid foundation in French. Learn familiar everyday expressions and basic phrases.

WEEK 1

Getting acquainted

You'll be able to...

  • Greet and say goodbye to people

  • Introduce yourself and say where you're from and your nationality

  • Introduce friends and family

  • Count to 100

  • Say how old you are and find out someone's age

WEEK 2

Everyday life in Paris

You'll be able to...

  • Order food and drinks in a café

  • Ask about prices and pay for your food and drink

  • Use French currency

  • Tell time

  • Give the date and day of the week

  • Talk about the weather

WEEKS 3 AND 4

Daily activities

You'll be able to...

  • Describe some daily activities

  • Say what you like and do not like

  • Ask where others are and what they're doing

  • Invite friends to do things 

  • Politely accept or turn down an invitation

WEEK 5

Custom theme

The fifth week is left open so that I can create a customized lesson for the class, based on what you and your classmates are most interested in learning!

  • Wednesdays: June 7, 14, 21, 28 and July 5

  • 6:30-7:30 pm

  • $175 tuition includes all course materials

  • Class minimum of 4 students and maximum of 10
